Tswalu’s profound sense of place has the power to reawaken the senses and trigger a longing to reconnect with nature’s ability to heal body, mind and soul. From the Korannaberg mountains to the southern Kalahari’s characteristic grassy dunes and gnarled trees, Tswalu’s ancient landscapes form a nurturing backdrop to your wellness journey. Movement, in the form of meditative walks, horse riding or a workout in the Motse’s gym or the privacy of your suite, is complemented by restorative treatments for the body and face. A variety of wellness treatments are offered in all three of our camps. Guests staying at the Motse can visit the spa or request an in-room treatment. Tarkuni has a private spa treatment suite for massages, manicures and pedicures. At Loapi, these treatments can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors, depending on the time of year and each guest’s preference and comfort. Our experienced, trained therapists are available throughout the day and into the early evening to work their magic. The team works exclusively with a South African product range called Terres D’Afrique, which incorporates the healing, nourishing, and hydrating properties of rare African botanicals, including Kalahari melon, buchu and manketti. Ingredients are hand-harvested from wild-growth plants to preserve ecosystem biodiversity, aligning with our sustainability ethos to leave the world better than how we found it.

Flooded with natural light, the gym at the Motse is air-conditioned and equipped with Technogym apparatus, free weights and a mat area for stretching, pilates or yoga. While completing a workout or adding an indulgent or therapeutic treatment to your safari is a wonderful way to bring body, mind and spirit into balance, wellness at Tswalu extends beyond the spa and gym. The rhythm of safari life, whether on or off the vehicle, facilitates a deep engagement with the awe-inspiring, vast landscapes of the southern Kalahari, sharpening the senses and reawakening our need to reconnect with nature and benefit from its healing power.
