Careers

Tswalu is more than a safari destination — it’s a bold regenerative project driven by a purpose to leave our world better than we found it. Our mission has always been to restore the Kalahari to itself through meaningful engagement with the environment and all who call it home. For over 25 years, our conservation work has focused on restoring the fragile Kalahari ecosystem, protecting biodiversity, safeguarding space for wildlife to thrive, and creating a model for sustainability. A career at Tswalu means becoming part of this purpose-led journey. Whether in conservation or hospitality, every role contributes to shaping a more hopeful, regenerative future.

Our values

Tswalu attracts people who are passionate about the environment, love working and living in nature, and want to be part of a successful team. We believe that every role at Tswalu, no matter how big or small, has the potential to positively impact our purpose to leave the world better than we found it. These are our core values:

  • Honest – We are truthful and sincere in all that we say and do.
  • Responsible – We take ownership of our actions and remain accountable.
  • Inspirational – We aim to positively impact others through our actions and words.
  • Caring – We put the needs of the environment and others ahead of ourselves.
  • Respectful – We show respect for the environment and one another.

If these values resonate with you and you have the necessary experience and expertise in your chosen field, Tswalu may be the perfect next step in your career.

About Tswalu

Tswalu is the largest private reserve in South Africa offering the only safari of its kind in an ecologically significant semi-arid landscape. Tswalu is a member of The Long Run, a global community of purpose-driven businesses dedicated to accelerating positive change through nature-based tourism. Most roles require successful candidates to live and work on the reserve, which is situated in the Northern Cape province. The closest town, Vanzylsrus, is approximately one hour by car. While remote, Tswalu is accessible by road and by air.
